In an effort to be cool, Michelle changes her name, carries a guitar, and hangs out with alternative types. But when she finds herself lying to her best friends, Michelle has to decide who she really... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This was an excellent book because it teaches you a lesson. You shouldn't try to be cool because people wrote you aren't as good as your friend. Always be yourself.
Wanna be cool? Don't ask Michelle!

How to be Cool is about a nine-year-old girl, Michelle Tanner. It all starts in school when a girl passes Michelle the class slambook. Michelle looks at her page. Her friends wrote great things about her, but the other kids didn't. Michelle turns the page and sees Loreen West's page. Everyone wrote super things about her. After school that day she decides to act like Loreen. Loreen is sort of a punk. First she cuts up her clothes. She then goes downstairs and shows her father. Her father is not very happy. The next day, her father left early for work. She wore her new clothes to school! Her friends thought she was crazy. She just ignored what they said. The kids in school didn't even seem to notice, though! Next she dyed her hair with kool aid. But bees attacked her. Then she wore a wig and fake nose ring to school. The cool kids liked her then. Then she told them she could play the air guitar. Now they want her to be in their band! What a mistake!
