When trouble comes to the pasture, Rudolph was born in and where he lived with his parents, his mother leads him deep into the woods to a hidden glade with a stream nearby, telling him to stay there, keep hidden and she will return for him when it is safe. Toby is a Weimar, and he convinces Rudolph to journey with him to safety. The walk to the shelter of Santa's home and stables is long and dark.
