I disagree with the review that this book is not good enough to be a textbook. It all depends upon who the reader is. I found this book to be a fairly easy, informative read. I learned a lot and was pushed in my own thinking as well. As far as the author stating his personal views among reference points, I believe many authors do this, especially when, like Wood, they are trying to suggest ideas counter to the mainstream. I am a doctoral candidate in the field of Education with emphasis in TESOL. If you have an interested in "How children think and learn" and Piaget isn't your cup of tea, (or even if he is!) read this book.
