Devilishly Delightful

Ten whimsical stories that captivate my second grade class. They delight in Horrid Henry's "brilliant" schemes which hysterically seem to go awry. Boys and girls alike are spell-bound in giggling and listening. An excellent choice for a read aloud book and gives wonderful examples of alliteration. The Horrid Henry series is also a great exposure to British vocabulary and culture. It was a wonderful springboard for me to teach the children about another culture and about "different" as opposed to the "wrong way." The "genius" plans hatched by a boy plagued by his "perfect-in-every-way" brother will keep normally reluctant readers riveted. It is an absolute treat for my class and they cheer whenever they see me pull out the Horrid Henry book. You can't go wrong with Horrid Henry.
