'Being In Here Now!' or 'Who's Afraid Of Tila Tequila?

Tila's story lines pulled me into to the pages and made me feel like falling in love for the first time (into the book face-down (only kidding) - except that the source and the object of that feeling wasn't her or someone else --- it was me. Objectivly, Tila provides a story of herself and the hardships she encounterd. Out of that story come inspirational methods and tested and true techniques of using those approaches wherever you want to go in life and truly following your own path and using your whole body, mind and passion to make it all happen. Tila admits her own mistakes made along the way to her success (kinda defying the myth of her being a immortal goddess (awww!) and that she learned to turn the losses from her mistakes into wins by re-inventing herself into something else so she could get herself behind herself and bring herself a success, as she needed to in order to achieve what she desired and what was inspiring her. Tila explains that as she kept expanding this always moved forward, her greater challenges became her greater fulfillments and the scale of what she was capable continued to grow and grow and it keeps on going. It may SOUND too good to be true, but this is a brutally honest attempt to share with everyone else in the world who can read it, that she was always sure she could do it, but she had to make the changes her. Read the book, examine your own feelings. I read the book standing in one corner of the book store, trying not to have the partrons around me see the outside cover, but before I knew it I was done and half the store employee had walked by me. I had blissed out and gone into a trance. That normally only happens to me with Beethoven and Federico Fellini films. Wow! If you think it will just be a bunch of crud, borrow it from someone first, just make sure you give it back!!! --Franklin

IT HELPS YOU WANT TO BECOME YOURSELF AND NOT CARE WHAT PEOPLE THING WHEN THEY TRY TO BRING YOU DOWN. PRETTY MUCH GO FOR YOUR DREAMS NOT MATTER WHAT PEOPLE THINK AND SAY TO YOU! :)

Raw, Candid, Hilarious

Working at the library, I snagged this book before it hit the shelves. I admit to being Tila's myspace friend (before she hit 1 million friends)and yes I watched the first season of Tila's MTV reality show. I found the book intriguing to say the least. As for the quantity of the book its about 160 pages but a 45 minute read because it is mostly pictures. Whether you think Tila is ugly or pretty her pictures are very artistic, colorful, and sexy. Being a career mother working on her BA in english, I actually found myself laughing along and relating to a lot of Tila's advice. Especially about the chapter on relationships with men, and women. Even though she curses a lot and uses a lot of slang Tila proves herself to be actually very smart and funny. And she has graduated from high school contrary to other rumors, and even has some college education. She came from nothing and worked hard by being true and honest to herself to become something. Tila's book could almost be the ultimate guide to love, fame, happiness, success, and definitely the life of the party!

All that...and a bag of chips

Okay I have to admit this book ended up being so much better than I expected. Not that I don't think Tila can write, but I kinda expected a glossy picture book full of fluffly but fun advice. What I didn't expect (and was EXACTLY what I needed to read) was what Tila writes about SELF ESTEEM. The chapters on believing in yourself and using haters as motivation to become the most awesome person you can be just blew me away! Tila gives awesome, down to earth advice about how to take the people who are so negative in your life and use what they dish out in a postive, proactive way. Whenever I am feeling down on myself I will be rereading the advice she gives about believing in yourself! I highly reccomend this book for that part alone. The fun, down to earth advice on dating and whatnot is just a bonus!
