This collection of essays summarizes in short form thousands of pages written by Wedgwood on English history, particularly the English Civil War and Restoration. Treatment of the parties involved in the conflict is fairly sympathetic to all positions. In addition to a group of core essays, there are a number of interesting anecdotal ones - rich in detail, however trivial.
