The Illinois 130th Infantry was organized at Camp Butler, and mustered into the service on the 25th of October 1862. After participating in the battles leading up to and including the Siege of Vicksburg, the 130th was transferred New Orleans, then to Texas. Most of the regiment was captured in the Red River Campaign and confined in Tyler, Texas for 13 months. Following exchange they participated in some of the final battles around Mobile, Alabama.The Regiment reorganized at Mobile July 11, 1865. It was ordered to New Orleans and mustered out August 15, 1865. It lost during service 2 Officers and 18 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 4 Officers and 153 Enlisted men by disease. Total 177
