Dr. Jane Palmer had every intention of telling FBI agent Steve Woods he was a father. But the rehearsed lines and practiced responses were forgotten the moment her little boy was kidnapped. Now, heart breaking and on the verge of falling apart, Jane needed Steve more than ever.... After every attempt at putting old feelings to rest, Steve Woods never expected Jane back in his life. Especially not for this reason. Racing against a ticking clock, desperate to earn Jane's trust, Steve still sensed Jane wasn't telling him everything. Which made him wonder why she'd come to Texas in the first place. And what it had to do with the child he'd do anything to rescue.
I read Angi's new book in 2 days. I'll have to say I was hesitant, I'm not a "romance novel" kind of a girl. I love reading "who dunnit books with a twist", this book definitely fits that category. I look forward to many more from Angi. I didn't realize Harlequin had Intrigue books guess I'm still thinking of the Romance novels like mom, grandmother, and my aunt used to read. Good job girl I'll see you on the 29th with book in hand.
Great first book!!

I love reading the Intrigue books and was curious about this one as the cover was a different format, with a man and a little boy. With that and that this is a new author (I love reading something new and fresh!), I just had to get. The intro doesn't do the story between the covers justice. Angi Morgan does a great job of fleshing out her characters; Jane is a quirky heroine, as smart (genius really) as she is good looking and you could feel the tension within Steve between trying to win his old girlfriend back and just doing his job. The pacing is good and I never felt like I was in one place too long. As I'm a Texas girl, I loved reading about places I've been and seen. The ending has a twist you wouldn't believe, so I won't tell you! This book didn't take me long at all to read as it was too hard to put it down. Hope Harlequin brings more from Angi Morgan!!!
