I've been teaching science since 1979 and in my judgement this is the gold standard for review books in any discipline. It's language is understandable- I refer to the author as Grandmother Chemistry. Students can use this book on their own, and it reads just like Grandmother is telling a story. It gets right to business in a way students can understand, explains the concept, presents problems, gives detailed method of solution for those problems, and concludes with many more opportunities for students to practice problems (Now You Try!). It doesn't get better than this, and I will have no other. Thankfully the author has written a similar book for the Regents Physics. If you are in NYS and preparing for the Regents Exam, this is what to get!!!
Excellent Book

This book is a great study aid and review guide for any student taking a Regents Chemistry class. Unlike most of the chemistry review books I've read, this one uses simple clear language that makes sense to me. Welcher also includes additional material not included in the NYS Physical Setting/Chemistry syllabus which really helps if you are taking an advanced or Honors chemistry class. A great book that is worth picking up.
