I have bought all of this series that I can get ahold of for my granddaughter who is almost 11. She loves them, and reads them as fast as I can get them. I am acquainted with Shel Arensen, and he signed them for my Granddaughter, who was delighted to meet him. He is truly a great man.
A great book about childhood in Africa

This book brings to life some of the childhood experiences that I had when growing up at boarding school in Africa. It is a must read for anyone who has spent any amount of their childhood in Africa.
Excellent elementary age adventure (Grade 3 - 5)
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 27 years ago
The book is excellent for young readers with a taste for adventure. For those that grew up in Africa (the setting) the story and the detail will bring home good memories of times forgotten. Based on the adventure of a small group of boys whose parents are missionaries in Kenya, it is similar to a Hardy Boys adventure but set in East Africa. Would make good reading material for parents to read to younger children.
