This is the story of a boy and the rescue of his dog that took place in the french pass of New Zealand. Not only is it an engaging story but includes maps, photos, and newspaper clippings from the true story. My kids and I love reading this together and have read it many times. I enjoyed the story as an adult and think kids from 4-12 would also enjoy reading this story. It was a lucky find from a thrift shop and it's definitely one of our favorite picture books.
