Book Overview

A beautiful, hardcover gift edition of what Arin Murphy-Hiscock describes as a "fantastic collection of historical and magickal lore from a variety of sources that informs and inspires. I wish it had existed when I began my own journey as a green witch." --Arin Murphy-Hiscock, author of The Green Witch: Your Complete Guide to the Natural Magic of Herbs, Flowers, Essential Oils, and More

The art and practice of herbal magick is an ancient tradition, rooted in pagan lore and tradition. In Herbal Magick, Gerina Dunwich--the author of dozens of books on Wicca and witchcraft--shows how to use the roots, flowers, leaves, and bark of common plants for practical magick. It reveals the well-guarded secrets of herbal enchantments and the history of herbal folklore, along with a satisfying easy-to-follow guide to herbal spells for many purposes. Both an herbal and a grimoire, Herbal Magick is an invaluable reference for beginner and advanced students of the magickal arts.

Wonderful book and well put together

Im not a huge fan of Gerina Dunwich, however, this book is truly wonderful and very well put together book. A lot of good facts on herbs and a lot of very well interesting folklore. Ms. Dunwich has put together a very good book that teaches towards the beginners of Wicca. This book is very well done and should be along with other great wiccan/pagan books.

WONDERFUL AND WELL-WRITTEN

This is a wonderful and well-written book on herbal magic, folklore, and natural healing with herbs. It makes an excellent companion to the author's other herbal, "The Wicca Garden." If you are into magical herbalism (and what self-respecting Witch isn't?) you will certainly find a ton of valuable and useful occult information in both of these Dunwich books.

An intriguing collection of mystical applications

Gerina Dunwich's Herbal Magick is a modern witch's indispensable guide to the world of herbs provides an excellent survey of plants and their particular relationship to the world of magic. Beginners as well as advanced students of witchcraft will find Herbal Magick filled with precise instructions on using herbs to summon spirits, weave spells, and make charms. An intriguing collection of mystical applications for modern herbs.

Gerina Dunwich has written a classic herbal book!

HERBAL MAGICK is both literate and entertaining reading. Well written, the book is an invaluable reference & resource on herbs, and related items. Dunwich's magickal memories of her late Grandma Rose is interesting autobiographical writing which gives insights into the importance of herbal living. Of all the many books I have read over the past 20 years concerning the magickal use of herbs, Gerina Dunwich's book is the most accurate and up to date book I have seen published in 2002. This book is packed-full of useful information for all types of people curious about the world of herbs. The folklore information in this book alone makes it unique, and a great reference to have on hand. Chapter 13 concerning gods and goddesses is detailed and accurate information that will come in handy for many a season! Chapter 1 concerns pagan herb lore. Every chapter is filled with useful information. There are numerous spells in this book, and each one serves a different need. If you are new to herbal studies or new to the writings of Gerina Dunwich, this book is the place to start. You can't go wrong with this book because it is honest, accurate, well-researched, and enjoyable reading. The chapters on healing by root and flower, and herbs of the ancient sorcerers, are among the finest written on the subject matter. Gerina's finest book to date! Excellent. I wish her continued success. Reviewed by LEE PROSSER, author of ISHERWOOD, BOWLES, VEDANTA, WICCA, AND ME.
