Ralph M. Smith is pastor and Bob Edd Shotwell is minister of administration and education at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. The authors believe in and underscore the vital role of the Sunday School as the key organization for helping churches grow. At the same time, they give attention to the total church program and how various organizations can be mutually supportive for church growth. Much of the practical information in this volume is based on exeriences at Hyde Park. However, Smith and Shotwell are careful to identify principles that apply to churches of all sizes - from the large church with a multiple staff to a church in which the pastor is the only staff member.
