Heir to the Throne: The Rise of Tyranny
The uncertainty faced by the inhabitants of the Plestion Galaxy had been resolved when the Morean threat was successfully defeated and eliminated. The battle on Giaconis to maintain its sovereignty was ultimately the battle for the entire galaxy's continued freedom. In the time that followed, Theodora, the newly elected premier worked tirelessly to turn the Inter-Planetary Council into an efficient organization designed for the galaxy's protection. The council grew as planets and moons petitioned to join as the news of the Morean threat and demise spread throughout all the systems in the galaxy.
A time of prosperity followed, and the resources of the IPC continued to grow as their fleet was increased in order to patrol all the systems in the galaxy. People had settled into their daily routines and were able to live without the fear of domination looming over them for the first time in many life cycles.
Changes start to occur after the arrival of a mysterious stranger. A representative from an unknown world, his appearance was to petition the IPC for membership. A series of appalling events start to occur after the stranger's planet becomes a member of the IPC. A terrorist attack is launched against the IPC. The leadership of the council work to recover, but the assaults continue and grow more severe than the one that preceded it. The Inter-Planetary Council and its leaders try to maintain control and put a stop to these heinous attacks. Every action taken by the IPC inadvertently weakens it further.
The mastermind behind the attacks has been thorough in devising a plan to weaken the IPC both internally and externally. Turmoil spreads through the council as they look for someone to blame...
It's a perilous time for the Inter-Planetary Council and its leadership, and only the passage of time would reveal the outcome for them both.
