Straightforeward and Practical

The Birth to Five Book: Confident Childrearing Right from the Start I like Dean's style of writing in Heart's Cry. It's a straightforeward book about making your heart right before God. Through practical stories and examples we see how the principles of prayer can change us. The powerful quote on page 78 reveal some of this book's value, "A thankful heart requires an eternal perspective. If your goals are short-term and material, the difficulties you encounter will be stumbling blocks. If, however, your goal is to be made in the likeness of Christ, life's difficulties will be stepping-stones." Although I read it for personal use, I could see it as a group study book because at the close of each chapter is a Meditation, a Reflection and Review questions.

This book is awesome!

This book takes the mystery out of prayer. Jennifer's writing style is clean and pure...no extra words to muddy her amazing content. This book is a must read for serious pray-ers.
