96 pages of blackly humourous gag cartoons, descibed by their creator as 'each one morally less excusable than the next'. No Dilbert or Far Side humour here, this is a collection of one panel gags certain to ostracize anyone from their work colleagues when hung in the office. Also included are several four panel-strips and a page of 'party jokes' that are certain to make the dullest wit the life of the party. Fashioned after the once-ubiquitous digest-sized cartoon men mags from the 1950s, HAW! is sure to be a popular conversation item for years to come!
The sub-title of HAW!! is "Horrible, Horrible Cartoons.", which pretty much serves to warn away the easily offended. Brunetti serves up 90-some odd (Very odd...) 1 page gag strips that read like "The Far Side" on crack. No topic is taboo, but if you're open minded, and looking for a LOT of laughs at everyone else's expense, HAW!! should fit the bill. Fans of Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, Richard Pryor, et al, will find Brunetti's subversive humor to be a perfect counter-point to the misplaced political correctness of the day. I can't rave about this book enough.
