Guns of the Border Region

IN THE 22nd CENTURY THE UNITED STATES HAS FALLEN. As the 21st Century draws to a close, an America weakened by internal decay is crushed in a devastating war with the Islamic Federation of Europe. During the war's decades-long aftermath, the Old Union breaks apart. The southwest is ceded back to Mexico, the northwest secedes and joins Canada. As the next century dawns, new nations form --chief among them the Islamic States of America and the New American Confederacy.Between the Islamic North and the Christian South lies THE BORDER REGION. The Region occupies much of the Ohio River Valley and consists of portions of states that broke away when their parent states joined the Islamic States or the New American Confederacy, plus the entire state of West Virginia. A patchwork of small fiefdoms and city-states, the Border Region is united mainly by an independent spirit and libertarian philosophy. As such, the Border Region becomes home to numerous free spirits, misfits, entrepreneurs, rogues, outlaws and adventurers. One such adventurer is the young woman known as SHADOW. Standing over six feet tall in her boot heels, her superbly-muscled body is that of a she-panther. Well-trained in the fighting arts, she is a formidable opponent. With the fair skin of a native of the cloudy hill country of Westsylvania, hair as black as a raven's wing, and piercing amber eyes, Shadow looks both alluring and dangerous. She roams the Border Region, making her rough way as a card sharp and pool hustler, among other occupations. Selling marijuana to Christians from the Confederacy and moonshine to Muslims from the Islamic States, she can't help but make some enemies along the way.Inexorably, Shadow and her allies are drawn into a web of intrigue and violence. Bloodshed and horror threaten to erupt with the thunder of the GUNS OF THE BORDER REGION.
