This nostalgic, 'slice of life' piece treats hardship with humor, includes fun asides like a recipe for real hand-churned ice cream, and offers glimpses into a future Hill still hopes to see (e.g. enjoying a Sousa concert with his great-grandchildren somewhere in the ballpark of 2015).
