Book Brings Back fond memories of my youth.

Just purchased a copy of this book. I knew Eva when I was young. She was best friend's with my best friend's mom and family, and we spent a lot of time hanging out and eating stuff that Eva and my friend's mom would make. One time Eva asked my friend Nick and I what we wanted for dinner....we said how about burgers. As talented a cook that Eva was....she could not cook a burger....LOL!

I bought my first copy of this book when I was 15 years old. My mother was an exceptional greek cook, and I always thought this cookbook was the closest thing to my mom's authentic greek cuisine. (In fact some of the recipes are better) When I was first married, I used the book and it eventually fell apart. I searched and found another copy. The same thing happened to the second one. I'm looking for my 3rd one now. I have purchased several greek cook books in the past and I still think Greek Cooking for the gods has the best and most authentic greek recipes available today. I have been using it for over 30 years.

If you want to cook like a Greek, this is the book to get!

This book has the best recipes for authentic Greek foods. The baklava recipe is excellent. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn the art of Greek cooking!

"My" Greek Cookbook

I'm happy to find I can still order a copy of Eva Zane's cookbook. I need to replace the one I've been using since the early 70's . . . one that's currently bound with a rubberband. Although my family has enjoyed everything we've made from the book, one of our all-time favorites is Spaghetti with Clam Sauce. It gets rave reviews from everyone, including my kids. I have other Greek cookbooks, but this is the one I USE.

The Best I've Ever Come Across!

I first found this cook book in a used book store: Since then I have seen it in every Greek food store I've been in. I haven't cooked everything in it, but everything I have cooked has been delicious! The Fassolada recipe alone is worth the price. Every Greek cook I know recommends it! I know of no other cook book that stands so completely alone in its field.

my copy of this book is in terrible shape...an indication of how much I use it. It was one of only 3 cookbooks I dragged across the world from Canada to Dubai! The pastitso recipe is great; so is the galatoboureko...but you can't go wrong with any recipe in the book.
