A great book for anyone moving away from home for the first time!

A great book for young birds leaving nest, newly married couples, or anyone moving away from home short term or long term. This book covers nearly every aspect of running, organizing, and maintaining a household in clear, concise every-day language. I bought two more for a couple of my grandchildren who will leaving home soon. The information, advice and helpful hints in this book are pertinent, useful, and timeless. A book like this would have been a welcome gift when I went out on my own for the first time. I have discovered useful information in this book that I can and will use even now and I've been out on my own for over forty years!

All the basics

There are two young women in the family, 21 and 26, both strong minded, independent and unattached. I can't be there for them all the time, and they probably wouldn't ask for help anyway. But this book is the true soup to nuts of living on your own. Common sense and extremely helpful, with good explanations. This should be a required gift for anyone going out on their own.

Love It!

I really love this book! I am just passed being a newlywed and just got this book because I am always calling my mom with questions about the best way to clean different things. Well, now I don't have to anymore! This book tells you how to clean everything and it's great! Someone else said that the presentation of material in this book was boring...well, it is a reference text! I would definitely recommend this book.

Everyone should own this book!

I wish I would have had this book when I first became 100% responsible for my dwelling! This book is practical and tells you how to clean, how to take care of and manage a household. Every teenager heading off to college, or newly married couple should receive this book as a gift into real adulthood!

This book tells it all...

I bought this book for my young bachelor son; but after going through it, I am going to keep it and buy him another one. It is up to date on cleaning products, and tells you about so many things that most other books of this type don't tell you; such as, diagrams on how to iron, how to sew. It tells you when fruits and vegetables are in season and how to tell when they are ripe. I think it is the most complete book of it's kind that I have ever seen. It would be excellent for newly weds, bachelor sons or daughters just getting their 1st apartment. And it is great for someone that has been housekeeping for over 30 years...like me!! Buy it, you won't regret it!

This book is chock full of valuable information,would make a wonderful gift for a newlywed couple or do-it-yourself couple.
