Excellent Book

This is a wonderful book on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Harold Horton writes from the depths of his experiences with Howard Carter, who came out of the Pentecostal Revivals of early 1900s. Horton gives an accurate and detailed analysis of 1 Corinthians 12, 13 and 14. There are chapters on each of the gifts of chapter 12. Horton makes no apologies for returning to the true supernatural impact of the Holy Spirit. This is the power of the Spirit at work in the believer today - he gives no weight to man's attempts to make the things of the Spirit into mere human derivatives. Written in 1934 and republished continuously for 60 years, this is a modern classic. It is refreshing to go back a few generations to be reinspired by some core teaching on one of the essentials foundations of a life of faith.
