Dr. Augsburger combines personal testimonies with Scripture for a highly practical and motivating guide to applying forgiveness in your life. The author has revised and expanded the contents for an... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is an older edition and there are other editions. I am only familiar with this edition, however. (I am sure all the other editions are excellent). There is a real problem with forgiveness in both those who have been injured and those who have done the injury. This is really where this book shines: It deals with both. It may sound strange (and this is the root of the problem) for one to consider that both parties not only need but must be healed. Sympathy for the injured? Yes, we all agree. Sympathy for the injurer? Well, no; not sympathy but understanding of the root of the problem. Now, this in not some mamby-pamby attempt at modern psychology but one rooted and based upon sound Biblical doctrine AND psychology . If you don't believe in the Bible that does not disqualify you from what is taught in this book. The real challenge is not what is stated so very simply herein, but whether you will take it to heart and take its good advice. I have and it has transformed my views upon these things and healed a great chasm within me. Doctor Augsburger is highly trained and educated and is currently practicing. The biggest challenge is that the book looks innocuous; you will have to look past the simple wrappings and relatively small size, and actually READ it. You will be glad you did.

This is a very good book about the "mystery" of forgiveness. The author has written a very good book about the whole subject. I plan on buying a whole bunch of these books and give them to people - it could change their lives. To forgive is divine and this book has great coverage about when to forgive, how to forgive, etc. Don't live without this Book!
