just something about it...

the story premise is great. the mythology and the magic is a unique rendition of mystics of the old. Though, during the entire read I couldn't help but feel bored, even at the near end when the excitement built, I was still just anticipating the end of the book. perhaps writing style ? dialogue ? not sure. perhaps just me. ha ha - good story though and even though im not sure I want to endure another 500 pages , I will probably eventually read the second book - as, like I said, it is an interesting story concept.
