As a huge fan of CCR, I never really knew much about the band or their creative leader John Fogerty. John lays out his painful trials and tribulations with his wives, his bandmates, and the horrors of a penny-pinching, creativity crushing Record Label that very near well destroyed him. Although not expressed in the book, I could very well empathize a bit with his bandmates, as John's innate talent and ambitious drive must have been very hard to keep up with. They all made great music, just seems he wanted more, almost always. His sound is unique, his love for the Swamp wonderful; I will always be a fan.

He explains his love for creating music & lyrics, musicians, bands, influences, the culmination of CCR, the legal battles, his marriages and children. This book has a little bit of everything and delved into the legal battles over music rights throughout the entire story. Information packed read for Fogerty & CCR fans
