Forrest Gump always said that the most wonderful scent there ever was comin' from the kitchen was somethin' chocolate cookin' in the oven. He said it from the time he was a small boy in braces,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I make Lt. Dan's Triple Chocolate Truffle Cake almost every Christmas (word of warning - does not survive 4th of July picnic heat!).
It's always a crowd favorite, and it freezes well in slices if somehow there are leftovers. I suggest making and assembling the layers, then refrigerating overnight before making the frosting and finishing the cake. It's a lot of effort, but the difficulty is more in how much work than in how skilled the work is. I learned a lot of new techniques on the fly and it still came out tasting great.
A Great Book, NOT for beginers

I have made many for the items in the book, including the cake on the cover. I loved ALL OF THEM. This is not a book for beginers...

I have countless cookbooks and recipes (especially for desserts), but this one is by far one of my favorites. I have tried many recipes from this book, and almost every single one is amazing. The first time I made "Forrest's Four Chip Fudge," my friends and family could not get over how good it tasted. They couldn't stop telling me that my fudge was the best they'd ever had. Not only are the recipes great, but there are so many helpful hints for working with chocolate that even a beginner could master the techniques in no time! Plus, I think it's adorable the way it is written from Forrest's view point, as he always talks about how great his mama was.

I found this recipe book to be wonderful. I have tried several recipes and they turned out fabulous and a good one I can recommend right off the top of my head is the hot fudge sauce. This is so simple and absolutely wonderful -- the best hot fudge ever! Try it, you'll like it. :-)

This is by far one of the best cookbooks I've encountered. There are a vast array of recipes available, and each one is easy to prepare and quite delicious. The recipes in this book include everything from cookies to candies, mousses to brownies (definitely try the recipe for candy bar brownies...you can't buy a better brownie, I guarantee it!!). I would recommend this cookbook to anyone who loves chocolate and wants a readily accessible resource at hand. Excellent!
