No matter what you want to do with the Ford EEC-IV computer (88-93) this is the book for you. This is a very indepth book that dosent just tell you how to do somthing but it also shows you why it does what it does and why it will do somthing else if you mess with it. He explains how everything works, from the sensors to the computer and then to the acutators, he explains how the work together and he writes very clearly so it is easy to understand and to put into action.
Good Intro to Fuel Injection.

An excellent book for educating the DIY person on what's under the hood of a modern car. Easily understandable, but also technical enough to explain thoroughly. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to understand fuel injection.
Excellent. Technically detailed, but readable.

Thorough coverage of all components, including troubleshooting of individual components. I was able to solve my particular problem on first attempt, based on reading this book carefully. If you read and understand this book you will know more than 99% of technicians. Well worth the money.
Probst to the rescue!; this book is great!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
Probst's book is a combined textbook and service manual on one of the most mystifying elements of modern automobiles, electronic engine control and electronic fuel injection (EFI). Hurrah to Probst for being, as far as I can tell, the first person to produce something more than a simple overview of EFI; some manuals simply state that EFI is much to complex, requiring prohibitively expensive tools and (presumably unnatainable) automotive education, that the individual who desires to learn such systems and to repair his own vehicle is out of luck and should refer any EFI problems over to a "trained technician". Not Probst! Probst's book is comprehensive. In it, he takes the reader from beginning to end starting with the scientific concepts underlying the function of EFI, (a pleasure for any engineer to study- including engine function and the need for EFI as opposed to carburetion), all the way to the hands on procedures of diagnosing and repairing EFI vehicles (a pleasure for any mechanic who is the owner of a poorly running EFI equipped car or truck). If you have the desire to learn EFI, this book will offer you the knowlege you need: it is of tremendous value to one who simply needs to maintain his car on a limited budget, or to the mechanic who desires to expand his knowlege and career.
