Fishing with Granddaddy: Every Fish Has a Tale

A grandfather uses the sport of fishing as a vehicle to develop a special bond with his grandson, Johnny, who is growing up without a dad. The grandfather associates a Bible story to nearly every fish caught. Hence, the slogan "Every fish has a tale is established". Johnny's grandfather finds him at the age of ten living under the dark cloud of being abandoned by his father. However, his grandfather is able to bring him into the sunlight of a full and joyful life and to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. After this, Johnny seeks to stay in God's will. This becomes something of a struggle when the time comes to choose a vocation and, in particular, whether to go to college or not. The answer to his prayers for direction is slow in coming, but it does come. Johnny meets Jennifer in college and they fall in love, but Jennifer is also slow in getting an answer from God as to whether or not Johnny is the person God has chosen for her. After delaying an answer to Johnny's proposal of marriage while serving two years as a missionary, she receives the answer in no uncertain terms of "yes", and Johnny's joy is made complete.
