Fine Friends is a celebration of all things friendship. Sometimes the very best thing you can do with a fine friend is to share a little "aha" moment . . . a small, knowing smile that says, "I may have toilet paper stuck to my shoe, but you, my fine friend, have food stuck in your teeth. * Peter Stein offers up a unique declaration to friendship just in time for graduations, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, and all other conceivable gift-giving occasions. Drawing inspiration from a menagerie of animals photographed in adorable, amusing, and sometimes astonishing postures, Stein adds universal observations and off-the-cuff word balloons to convey the intricacies, loyalty, humor, and idiosyncrasies associated with true friendship.
Fine friends is a touching and humorous exploration of friendship through the use of clever photographs of animals, with captions supplied by successful greeting card creator and writer Peter Stein. At first glance the book is cute and funny, but the more I read, the more poignant I found the book. Images of friends who deserved a copy came to mind. A great way to express your feelings with friends.
The Best Yet!

I have read all of P.L. Stein's books and have given many of them as gifts to close friends. This one is my favorite! The pictures are so funny, and the accompanying captions fit perfectly. I laughed out loud several times, which doesn't happen too often to me while reading! As with his other books, I've already given it to several friends, and have some extras on hand to give to others. This book hits "close to home" about friendship and love!
Wonderful! Not your typical "gift book"

I got this as a present from a friend and sort of rolled my eyes, expecting it to be all sappy (since these books often are). But I started reading it and it's absolutely priceless! Great animal photography and the writing is HILARIOUS (personal favorite: a bullfrog testing his best friend for stinky breath). Seriously, no exaggeration, page after page of laugh-out-loud funny. I've since bought three copies to give to friends. I loved it..touching and poignant, but with really clever, smart humor. Great inexpensive gift!
