Finding God in the Bible

Ken Wilson, a neighbor, asked me to review this book when it was in it's preliminary stages. Since I was not a Christian at that time, I had to ask Ken to show me how to look up some of the Bible verses--I even had to borrow one of his Bibles, since I didn't have one. Ken asked me to review it for punctuality and it's content. I worked through this book (which was almost exactly like the final printed version) and found that content was nicely broken down and easy to understand. The Scripture verses in each chapter brought home the point and looking them up was a life-changing experience. After working through this book and asking Ken to explain some of the things that I didn't fully understand--along with a tramatic experience in my life--I understood the Good News of salvation and wanted to accept Jesus Christ into my heart. Ken was there to lead me through the Sinner's Prayer. Since coming to the Lord, I have used Ken's book to teach others the Good News and have been blessed with leading others to the Lord. This book is a tremendous tool in bringing the Gospel to others. The "bridge" analogy is very visual and simple and breaks Salvation down into it's simplest and most graffic terms. The illustrations in each chapter are fantastic and are are similiar to the kind of parables that Jesus used to bring a point home. And finally, the Up Close and Personal stories in each chapter are true--because my story is included--only my name was changed. I know a few of the people personally and their testimonies speak for themselves. This book is great fruit for any "Seeker" to digest and also for any mature Christian to devour. I highly recommend this book to any church, congregation, small group leader, or anyone desiring to spread God's Good News of Salvation to anyone.

A Great Resource

This book is a great resource to use in approaching a friend or neighbor about accepting Jesus Christ into his or her life. I got to use this book as part of a Sunday School class with the author as a teacher. It is a wonderful resouce.
