Sturdy, concise, small family prayer with historical overview

After the forward there's a few pages about Fr. Peyton's family ministry including Family Theater and 5 pages explaining the historical development of the rosary of which many folks may be unaware,including the Battle of Lepanto and the incredulous victory against the Turks (and I dare say miraculous but you'll need to research the statistics and data elsewhere). There are easy to follow instructions with a simple diagram for how to pray the rosary. For each set of mysteries there is one small page (remember, this is pocket size but thick) with a New Testament verse, a paragraph meditation, and a short 1 or 2 sentence prayer relating the mystery and the meditation to the reader. This is one of the finest rosary meditation books I've seen for busy families. The best feature about this book is that each set of mysteries has not one, but TEN different pages, so that there are ten different sets of meditation/prayer pages for each mystery. Still today the phrase Fr. Peyton coined applies: the family that prays together stays together. No wonder hundreds of thousands gathered to pray with him wherever he visited, including Europe and South America. The life of the Apostles with Jesus is recalled with each mystery in the most basic, direct language to focus on God's plan and his strong yearning for the salvation of all souls via real, true love.

Best Rosary Meditations our Prayer Group has seen.

There are six members of our Prayer Group who have met now for the last 11yrs each week. We Pray The Rosary and Chaplet of Devine Mercy along with other prayers. We have always used Fr. Paytons Book and we are updating as our books are rather dated. We need another 4 copies which I shall be ordering. A wonderful book to use to "pray" the rosary.

We use many different books to aid us in our daily rosary. But Father Peytons is our all time favorite. We love to come back to it. We have gone thru it dozens of times and it always speaks to us. We are still using the US Navy edition that we got when we were both in the Navy in the late 60's . The short one page meditations are insightful and meaningful even in todays world. We highly recommend this book for anyone seeking a closer walk with Jesus and his Mother.

Personally walk through the life of Jesus and Mary

This convenient size book of rosary meditations offers a variety of readings and reflections on the lives of Jesus and Mary. My old book is falling apart and is held together with tape from being used so much! It just seems like no matter which set of mysteries I chose it speaks to my heart and has meaning for that day. A book to enjoy in response to Mary's pleading for more prayer from the heart.
