Ev Solis had fantasized about quitting their job, but never quite like this.

Auditing Victus Station's downside properties was boring. Beyond boring. The only thing that kept them coming back was Tobit Sinclair, the comms operator who always ended up running Ev's auditing missions. They'd never met in person, but Ev couldn't get enough of his voice, of the way it made them feel and imagining what it would be like to finally meet in person.

When the downside mission to Semele's ghost colony takes an unexpected turn and becomes an off the books rescue mission that will cost Ev not only their job but their future on Victus Station, and probably anywhere in the known galaxy for that matter, they turn to Tobit for help.
