Simplistic, yet informative

Rice's book is written with the layperson in mind, not the scholar. And this isn't a bad thing, since most apologetic material today seems to be directed towards scholars, and is simply over the head of the average person. His section on hyper-Calvinism isn't as meaty as I would like it to be, but again, Rice isn't writing to the scholar (for a more scholarly treatment of the issue, read "The Other Side of Calvinism" by Laurence Vance, or "Chosen But Free" by Norman Geisler). The books contains quite a lengthy section on Roman Catholicism (including a rather humorous letter to Dr. Rice from a Catholic priest), and the sections on the various cults are worth reading. The section on baptismal regeneration was the most helpful for me.

One of the best books of the best christian writer!

This book was the ultimate help for me to recognize the false teachers and to help good sincere Christians to realize about mistakes in misinterpreted or invented doctrine, every study being made in the light of the Scriptures as clear, honest and plain as only brother Rice was able to do it, a great book that every true Bible believing Christian should read and have at home.
