Weathering the Storm

We all have been depressed at some point in our lives; whether from the loss of a loved one or just feelings of sadness passing over us from witnessing the horrible atrocities of our world unfold while watching the news. These bouts of depression only last for a short period of time; however, there are many forms that are categorized as illnesses which can last for several months or even years. Lewis Banks, at the echelon of his profession as a contracts manager, finds himself battling the most severe form, Psychological Depression. Defined as: A psychotic or neurotic condition characterized by an inability to concentrate, insomnia, and feelings of sadness, dejection, and hopelessness. Banks would go on to lose his wife, his job and serve time in prison due to his depression, which he so eloquently labels as "The Dark Side." During his time in prison he reflects on his life, which eventually leads to him embracing a stronger relationship with God. It is his faith in our Lord and Savior that saves him from himself. FALLEN TO GRACE is Banks' account of how he was at the top of his game one minute and considering ending his life the next. He goes into detail about how his marriage spirals out of control, his obsession with making the all mighty dollar and his deceitfulness while in the arms of an adulteress. Banks quotes scriptures from the Bible as each relates to phases of his journey into "The Dark Side." The book is well-written in an easy to read format, so readers are not burdened with the abundance of medical jargon found in most books of this genre.
