Fafner, only different

I am a fan of the Fafner series, so when I saw the novel listed on a news site, I had to get it. The characters are there, but circumstances are somewhat different. Instead of just a handful of pilots, it is mentioned that there have been a lot of pilots (one of the Fafners is referred to as the "yellow coffin"). The novel does not tell the whole series, but you do get a lot of insight as to the events from the first couple of episodes, as well as background on Kazuki, Soshi and ALVIS as a whole. If you are also a fan of the series, it is well worth reading.
