As an executive coach and leadership trainer, I see the need for coaching more and more as a way of attracting, developing and retaining leaders in a very competitive environment. This book ably helps remove a lot of the hype and myths around this growing but fragmented field and it provides a very practical road-map for how to implement a successful coaching program. I would have liked to have seen more on the global aspect of coaching but perhaps that could be the topic of the authors' next book! :)

As a consultant and executive coach who designs and delivers strategic coaching programs to organizations, I am pleased to recommend this book to anyone involved or responsible for the design and delivery of coaching programs. Well thought out and organized, with research and data to back up the conclusions (when possible and appropriate). Best practices are described when research is not available. The Executive Coaching industry is changing rapidly. It is important that we have standardized practices and high quality design in coaching engagements. This book is an excellent resource that takes a snapshot in time of the state of the art (and science) of Executive Coaching to assist coaches and the organizations they work in to maximize the value they deliver.
