Exact Retribution: Vengeance by Nuclear Terrorism

This historical fiction tale follows several generations of terrorists who seek to exact retribution from America for perceived wrongs. Their actions become enormously more threatening as the plot assumes a nuclear dimension. A high-tech, artificial intelligence-powered device called "Gods Eye" reports that a nuclear warhead has fallen into the hands of people who mean to inflict massive destruction on America. Those closest to the Gods Eye predictor struggle to convince their leadership of the threat's validity before a terrible disaster occurs. Without evidence of a missing weapon, their warnings fall on deaf ears. The backdrop of the story is a 1970s Minuteman Missile Wing in the Air Force Strategic Air Command, where a first generation of terrorists plots to steal a nuclear weapon from the closely-guarded missile inventory. A combination of unusual circumstances initially enables the conspirators, but then equally unexpected events derail their ambitious plan. However, the terrorists' failure is temporary, as a new generation of Middle Eastern activists takes up the cause, just as determined to visit immense devastation on their American enemy. Their relentless pursuit to harm the country they call the Great Satan seems unstoppable. Ultimately, the plot is uncovered, but it may already be too late to stop it. The success or failure of the terrorist plan to cause massive destruction may come down to chance.
