We love, love, love Elvira! Even after so many years, my now nine-year-old daughter still finds Elvira's elegant bloodthirstyness hilarious. The illustrations are really engaging. Considering the dragons are busy eating princesses, you'd imagine the book to be somewhat off-putting or unsavory, but the illustrations depict such doofy-looking dragons no child could ever be frightened by Elvira and her friends. We still crack up when Elvira's parents, who don't recognize Elvira dressed in princess finery, declare her a "fat princess" and decide to eat her. Feel confident giving this book to your child or as a gift - it's a winner.

This book is cute and funny. It really helped my students who have autism figure out and discuss emotions.
