Museum Fun!

Ella sure reminds us about how much fun the imagnation is in the experience of art. And while some museums have saff and volunteers that welcoem the childhood whimsy, those are the rare case. Ella's approach can remind kids and adults to look for the spontaneous joy and beauty that are all around us. A great gift book for children, teachers, and art lovers.

Story Inspires Creativity

This book caught my attention right away because most children's books have the same themes about kids' activities. This one was about a common activity but was the first of its kind that I had seen. It is a lighthearted story that makes boring museums into fascinating places full of wonder. The book inspires children to take an interest in art and culture and to take their imagination far away in an otherwise educational and "boring" environment. Who do you know that takes out their date to a museum? The illustrations were fun. I wish the end was a little better but the book was good enough for me.

Ella and the Museum Trip

I thought this was a sweet book about a trip to the museum. It turns the tables on the stereotype that museums are stuffy, full of stuffy, scolding people and boring for kids. This kid - Ella - finds life in a museum that adults seem to have forgotten. She can see figures in paintings dance and statues that move. What a nice way to encourage kids to have some fun and enjoy the museum.
