The Elderberry & Jones Mysteries are written with short chapters and accessible language to provide an exciting 'big kid' story for those older children for whom reading is a struggle: children like my daughters. I've deliberately left the text without pictures, remembering how proud I felt when I first read a chapter book with no pictures! Perhaps the second edition will be illustrated.

We gifted copies of The Jewel Heist to my daughters' classmates for summer reading, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Parents have texted to share their delight that their child read a book without being nagged, that the chapters are perfectly paced and the right length to keep interest, while not exhausting the young reader.

The children at school (and their teachers!) have been asking when H & K's second book is coming out, which...made me cry! I am so pleased that the children are as excited as we are about Ellie and Oliver's adventures.

To keep the reading momentum going, I've reduced the price of The Jewel Heist on Amazon to cost - if one child picks up our book and reads it for pleasure, that's payment enough.
