18, No Time to Waste is the true story of Kathi, a vivacious teen-ager. The fall after her high school graduation, Kathi was returning home from a church youth camp with 3 other teenagers when they... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I also read this book many years ago. As a teenager I went to Argentina as an exchange student. I found a copy in Spanish there, and gave the English version to a friend at school. That friend died as a young mother and I became close to her mother. One day her mother told me the entire family read the book, that they were nominal Christians before. But this book changed all their lives. I found the Spanish version again last week, but am lazy and rebuying the English version to remind myself what exactly changed my friend's family.
It's hard to put this book down

I first read the book about Kathi's life probably at least 20 years ago. It is a book that is hard to put down. I was so drawn to Margaret's story about her relationship with her daughter. It certainly created a new awareness of the brevity of life, and to seize every opportunity to serve the Lord, because tomorrow is not promised. I was very inspired by this story. Excellent reading!
an unforgettable story

I read this book for the first time over 20 years ago. I was living in a very dark situation, and this book gave me hope that there really was a God who I could hold onto in all of life's difficulties. I read this book so many times as a teenager the pages fell out. I had to stick a rubber band around it to keep it together. Somehow, it got lost over the years so I was so excited to order it again all these years later. I read the whole thing the other day and find it still has a profound affect on me. It truly is an example of how God brings good things out of every hard thing and tragedy in our lives when we are His and called according to His purpose.
Beautiful story about a beautiful person

What an inspiring book for anyone, especially mothers of teens. I could see so much of my relationship with my son as Margaret told how she wanted to draw closer to her daughter--to know her better--but felt like she was driving a wedge between them instead. This is such a beautiful and uplifting story, I recommend it to anyone. Have a box of tissues ready, as tears came to my eyes while still reading the dedication. Kathi's testimony was a wake-up call to me to rededicate my life to the Lord. What a beautiful person she was! We will never know this side of glory just how many people her life has touched, many of whom she never met. Thank you, Margaret, for sharing this precious person with us.
