Written by the makers of the real tests, this title presents a review of the material on the selected Praxis exam and a practice test. It covers the three categories of assessments which correspond to the three milestones in teacher development - academic skills assessment, subject assessment, and classroom performance assessment.
This study guide was great for me! My degree is in Elem Ed, so I was taking the Early Childhood Praxis to add on to my certificate. I needed to know what to study, since I didn't take any Early Childhood courses when I was in school 5+ years ago. I scanned the questions first, wrote down any terms I was unfamiliar with, and researched those first. Then, I took the test, checked my answers, and did more research on the topics I missed. Practicing the constructed-response portion was key for me! I would never have know what to expect, and therefore would not have been as prepared for this test. I studied for about 7-10 days before the test (I'm a proscrastinator, I know!). Possible scores were between 100-200; passing in my state is 166. I scored a 194! Not too bad for a week's worth of studying - and I KNOW I would not have done this well without this study guide!
Great book!

This book helped me pass the PRAXIS assessment the first time! Be aware that the second part of the test (writing) is lengthy so study this area of the book. It is worth the $20 to buy so you don't have to take the test again for over $100 :)
