the greatest ever

This wonderful book gives the reader an intriguing insight into one of sports most decorated cavaliers. It's to no surprise that this SUPERMAN dominated his opposition with with relentless intensity, only leaving them to wonder at his feats. The continuous comparsions to this man are not even worth mentioning because the technology has advanced so much in the last 35/40yrs. For his era he was truly in a class all of his own. I can only ever see one EDDY MERCKX, THE GREATEST CYCLIST EVER!

This book sums up the legacy of Merckx perfectly.

Eddy Merckx's life has been documented extensively in innumerable books. This book is a visual trip through his career, beliefs and life. I was struck reading this book at the enormity of the man and the sheer willpower it took to accomplish day after day the things he did. It shows the attitudes Merckx held that made him so good, and fairly documents the trials of staying on top for so long. I own this book, and will recommend it to anyone who wants to find the elements of success embodied in one man's life.

The title says it all: The greatest cyclist of the century.

A very good read, complete with a number of little known facts and pictures. The author was somewhat gushing in his admiration for Merckx, but if ever a sportsman warranted such praise it has to be Merckx.
