This book was inspired from living off the grid south of Algonquin Park and the many beautiful lakes and nature around Bancroft, Ontario, Canada. I knew there was a story around the needle felted eggs that I loved making. Thanks to art director and curator Laurie Jones of Rails End Gallery and Art Centre in Haliburton, Ontario, I sold my felted eggs at the art gallery boutique. The Art Gallery of Bancroft and A Place For The Arts co-operative artist centre also helped inspire me to pursue elaboration of the felted eggs. Loyalist College in Bancroft gave me the opportunity to write this story / poem / colouring book about ecology. In the Loyalist College course, participants created their own needle felted Eco-egg to accompany the book. Each book is customized to name the main character and the their favourite lake. Teaching children early about mono culture, poly agriculture, recycling, reusing, reclaiming is the key to our planets success.
