Even as a high school teacher, I really enjoyed this book because it gave me some good ideas on how to utilize technology in the classroom. No matter what grade you teach, the technology doesn't change, but the content is what makes technology work for different grade levels and teachers. This book gave some great ideas and covered a lot of areas where technology can be used. The concept that helped me the most in this book was the communication chapter. Here, Dockterman explains how you can communicate with parents using technology. He gives great resources for free teacher website pages and also, some insight on what to include in your communication with parents. Managing grades, inputting and organizing student information, and lesson plans are areas where technology can be used to benefit the teacher, which are discussed in the book. Dockertman explains how to use technology inside your classroom as well. This section of the book gives great ideas on how to use technology to scaffold student learning.
