DROPPING OUT is probably the best book from the SWEET VALLEY UNIVERSITY series. My favorite character in the whole SWEET VALLEY series - each and every one of them - is Todd Wilkins. He seems like the most realistic character of them all and if he were a real person, he'd be a really cool (and cute, from the pictures on the covers) guy. In DROPPING OUT, Todd finally starts to realize how much independence means to him. His father had forced him into majoring in Business, but he didn't do well in that because that's not what he wanted to do for a future career. So he decides to drop out of Sweet Valley University and get a job working as a bartender at a local bar! His parents, especially his dad, are really furious when they find out he dropped out. They take away his bank and credit cards and even his nice BMW they gave him in high school. Now he has to pay for everything himself.Liz, who didn't understand why Todd wanted to drop out, is confused about the kiss she and Sam had. Sam, who loves Liz, doesn't want Liz to know that the kiss really meant anything because of a secret he's been keeping from her. The rest of the characters don't really have any big problems in this book, though. Todd, Liz, and Sam are the three main characters in this book. But if you love the SWEET VALLEY UNIVERSITY series and wanna find out what happends to Todd, Liz, Sam, and the rest of the Sweet Valley gang, then check this book out. Great read. You won't be disappointed!
I love it!

Ok, i know alot of people hate todd but i like him but not with liz or dana, just playing it kinda loose. You should read it becuase i think that this new independent todd makes the book more interesting. Also theme seems alot more mature and real in my opinion.
realistic

i like this book a lot. sam comforted liz because of what happened with that stupid finn guy, and liz is grateful, of course. then, one day, sam bought liz a gift, a real simple gift, but it left liz very...happy. then, one night, liz came down to sam's room, and kissed him. and sam kissed her back... but the next day he completely disappeared. and the next day, and the next...leaving liz very hurt. todd dropped out of school, and his parents are REALLY mad at him, screaming at him over the phone...*i* couldn't even stand it. todd is a different character in svu, so unlike the todd before in the svh series. before he used to be...well, sort of boring, i guess, but now...he's more...daring. overall, this book was really great.
