D.R.O.N.E. - Deployable Remote Observation and Neutralization Entity had started out as a government experiment, meant to test a new, highly controlled societal order. The program was designed to analyze how the general public would react to constant, all-encompassing surveillance and control. The intention had been to create a network of drones and AI-controlled systems that would "protect" citizens from internal threats, curbing violence, rebellion, and unrest through fear and dominance.
