Marsha is the only child of a single mother who struggled to stay above the poverty level. She has married a rich, handsome lawyer who is making all her dreams come true, including the purchase of a beautiful fourth level dressage horse with the temperament of a saint. When Marsha moves her new horse to Centerline Farms, her husband, whose faithfulness she has begun to question, shows an interest in Cyra, one of the boarders. Cyra is a curvy, overly made-up, punked out and pierced stripper who trains at the upper levels. Marsha decides to befriend Cyra in order to see why her husband has shown an interest in her. Getting to know Cyra pulls Marsha into a hidden world of greed, ambition, corruption and violence. Marsha eventually becomes a suspect in a murder. Although the setting for this novel is the dressage world, Dressage Lessons is not about dressage or horses! It is about a secret world of crime, created and perpetuated by those we normally trust: school teachers, doctors, nurses, law enforcement, pastors, priests and foster parents, among others. When I wrote the first draft of Dressage Lessons, I did not know how widespread and pervasive the evil is... now I know more. Sadly. The reality is more shocking than any fiction.
