This book has the feeling of a western, but Minnesota is not really the west. This story takes place 3 hours away from my childhood home, so I know the weather and the terrain pretty well. There was not a single gunshot fired. There were not even any fistfights. The plot of this story is cerebral. The activity in the book is mostly cerebral. Much of the story plays itself out in the thoughts of the characters. If you don't like pensive reading, then this is probably not the book for you. This is a down-to-earth work by a down-to-earth author about down-to-earth characters who have aspirations for life beyond the Earth and who seek help and guidance from their Lord. These are salt of the Earth people -- who haven't lost their savor. If you're the same kind of person, you'll find this uplifting. If you're not, perhaps, you'll find it life-changing.
A fantastic book

DOUBLE DECEPTION is the second sequel to Ms. Dooley's book, The Other Brother. Readers will want to read The Other Brother, and His Brother's Castoff first as DOUBLE DECEPTION refers back to events mentioned in the previous books. I quickly came to care for Rissa, and hoped she would escape the snares her guardian has set. Mr. Le Blanc made a delightful villain. Pick up a copy of DOUBLE DECEPTION today for a quick and satisfying read.
