When most people think of tarot, they naturally think of divination. While fortunetelling is fun to do, I have always thought that the tarot had much more potential for use as a tool in the spiritual quest. Therefore, I tend to use my decks for understanding myself and how the experiences that I am having relate to my personal journey. The author of Discovering Your Self Through the Tarot also sees greater potential for the tarot. In this amazing book she pulls together the tarot, Jungian archetypes, and the Qabalah. Not only does she add some very useful layouts for spiritual and self awareness purposes but she also helps the reader assess where he or she fits into these schemes and what parts of the self might be serving as shadows or be unbalanced in an unhealthy way. Discovering Your Self Through the Tarot provides the tools for self discovery and a place to begin a personal journey. The reader need only pick up their tarot deck and start the learning process.
