Great Resource - maybe not definative but close enough

I have always been a fan of "Discover" magazine so when I saw this almanac I immediately picked it up. The format for this almanac is important because it provides many other resources (books and websites) where the reader can obtain more information or get a greater context. Of course the editors of "Discover" magazine include all topics of science, technology, and mathematics. There are accurate histories and timelines for the discipline at hand and nice clear definitions of science terms. There are also nice and simple charts. Each discipline also contains a section on research and design, records in the discipline, and scientists in the news. Overall, this is a great resource and easy to use. I would recommend this for anyone who is a fan of the sciences. Of course it isn't comprehensive and does not contain as much information as individual volumes or textbooks do, but with easy to follow directions to other resources this makes a nice addition to any science library.
